The training in composing correct and effective expository and argumentative essays and papers. Students are  pressured to practice and challenge their writing skills on tough topics.

Engl 2020 – Literature Forms & Creative Writing

The study of the basic structures and elements of fiction, poetry, drama which included literacy and critical theory with multiple readings in American, British and world literature.

Engl 3040 – Business Writing

Introduction to audience, context, purpose, and writing strategies common in professional business settings: memoranda, letters, reports, and proposals. Including individual and team projects. Projects displayed and offered examples of how to properly format business letters.

STS 1010 -Science & Technology In Society 

Surveys historical, philosophical, and social studies of science; and introduces the basic requisites for scientific and technological literacy; and reports the problems of responsible participation in a scientifically and technologically advanced society.

Comm 2500 – Public Speaking

Practical training in public speaking; practice in the preparation, delivery, and criticism of speeches. Develops an understanding and knowledge of the process of communication. This course allows students to form connections, influence decisions, and motivate change.  

Posc 1020 – International Relations

The overview of both theory and practice in contemporary global politics. Topics include structure of and primary actors in the international system, reasons as to why conflict occur, and the roles of international institutions, laws, and policies. 

Soc 3100 - Marriage & Intimacy

The in-depth examination of mate selection, living together, marital relations, family planning, conflict resolution, divorce, and remarriage, along with later life adjusting and the single-hood lifestyle in the United States. 

WS 3490 – Gender & Sexuality

This course examines the philosophical dimensions of contemporary debates of the relation of sex, gender, and sexuality. Along with the focus of gender intersects with other forms of difference, including race, ethnicity, class, age and sexual orientation.
